Life and good health to all.

I don’t give a flying fuck about politicians.  Those of you that know me, know that I take an avid no stance on political parties or political melodrama.  I care about people, and how we treat others.  To me, how a country treats it’s sick shows a lot about the character of those that govern that country.

That being said, America is run by the pharmaceutical companies.  It’s not hidden either, nor is it a little known fact.  Those out there feel our healthcare system is great, and that it is the highest rated because we pay private institutions to handle our shit for us… take it from someone who sold insurance and was told firsthand how to get the most out of people knowing that it didn’t cover hardly anything… it’s balls.

Cuba, a country we’ve been at war with for 60 some odd years, and a communist devil’s country has a healthcare system that is far greater than ours and yet they aren’t allowed to trade with countries like ours where all the big name medical companies are based.  Granted as a poor country their doctors don’t make shit, but their life expectancy is just under ours (less than a year’s difference on average).  So just because your doctor doesn’t make 300k a year doesn’t mean he shouldn’t still do a damn good job apparently.  How is it that they can offer their suppressed and tortured people such great healthcare without the mighty billion dollar enterprises that sell us life in a bucket and all of our fountain of youth supplements?

Our country sells little old ladies in their early 60’s health insurance that costs them 500 dollars a month because in all honesty they can’t afford to not have it.  Remember guys and gals, you have to have your own private insurance until you are 65 unless employed by a company offering health insurance.  From a guy who takes care of his grandparents, even after 65, Medicare doesn’t really cover a whole helluva lot and a secondary insurance like BlueCross doesn’t even cover enough to make it worth having anymore.

Now why is it America doesn’t have a united healthcare system like say… Canada?  Canada has a fantastic healthcare system, and although the waiting line can be rather long, the fact of the matter is, no matter how old you are or where you come from you can always get care.  It seems to me the only people that don’t want a healthcare system that treats everyone are the people who can afford insurance.  I’m sorry, get your head out of your fucking ass you stupid cunts.

Stop thinking about your pocket for a change.  Think about the people around you, who can’t afford the 200 dollars a month average that BlueCross is charging for independent insurance and the people who break a bone and are forced to get subpar healthcare.  How would you feel if your child got sick and you couldn’t get proper care because your company bumped you down to part time and you lost your benefits.  You do realize that once your child is ill, you can’t get insurance anymore.  Pre existing illness aren’t covered by any insurance company.

Better yet, say you are a 40 year old man and you’ve had insurance for 6 months or so.  Suddenly you have a heart attack, and while in the hospital you get a note saying your insurance has denied you coverage.  Why?  Because heart attacks aren’t covered in the first 12 months of coverage, due to that being considered a pre existing condition.

Europe is a great example of what America SHOULD have.  In Britain, if I go to a hospital, not only do I get some of the best care in the world, but I don’t owe a dime.  See, hospitals in the UK don’t even have accounting offices.  The average cost of having a child here in the states?  $8,802 (2007 study, up to 11k for c-section, 47k for preemies, and up over 1 million if your child is born with special needs and complications.)  In the UK you pay nothing.  Nope, not kidding.  In fact, you have a baby in the UK, and they pay you on the way out the door to pay for your taxi.  Remember, if you have insurance here in the States, it’ll cover most of it… but what if you don’t?  Debt city.

You say, oh but their taxes must be insane?!  Some are sure, but have you looked at the taxes you are paying today and where those dollars go?  No, you haven’t, because you are fucking stupid.  Because you are one of those upstanding “I’ll pay more for a free market” asshats who likes to talk the talk but do none of the research and you should be shot for being so ignorant and a complete waste of fucking air.  See, England’s healthcare system (NHS – National Healthcare Service) was put into effect in 1946.  You heard that right.  London was still in ruins from the bombings, the economy was nonexistent, and the entire country was in the largest deficit it had seen in decades.  Somehow, they still managed to provide free healthcare to every person, rich or poor.

We’ve spent countless billions, nearly a trillion on war and military expansion.  England spends a little over 150 billion dollars a year on its healthcare system.  For those of you that actually read how much this country spends a year, you know how little that actually is.  Amazing they can offer some of the best care in the world, for less than a 5th of what we spent on the war against terrorism.  Pretty incredible since even with a trillion dollars we still didn’t actually find the terrorist we were looking for.  Makes you wonder, how many trillions does it take to find a Bin Laden?

All that being said, I don’t give a shit one way or another.  I just wish people would do their research before blabbering off about how bad it is, or how awful it is.  Shut the fuck up and actually read.  You don’t deserve an opinion if you can’t do the research first.  I know America has one of the worst education systems in the world, but for fucks sake I hope most of you can at least read well enough to understand good and bad.

I don’t like watching sick and ill people get turned away from hospitals, I don’t like knowing that when I have a child I’m going to be in debt paying back the hospitals and insurance companies.  Life should not have a price.  We’ve come too far in society to still be charging people to live.  No one has a price on their head, and I’m definitely tired of all of you hypocritical dickwads who preach about Jesus and God and turn around and say that rich people deserve healthcare more than poor people.  Because if you say that we don’t need a healthcare reform, that’s exactly what you are saying you Godless son of a fucking cock bite.  Every life is valuable, and every life is worth a chance to survive, not just you, you selfish self serving piece of dog shit.

So for all of you hypocrites who preach about God and Jesus and how they’ve blessed your life and mean so much to you, I will educate you on the bullshit you’ve preached.

“My brothers, what use is it for a man to say he has faith when he does nothing to show it? Can that faith save him? Suppose a brother or a sister is in rags with not enough food for the day, and one of you says, ‘Good luck to you, keep yourselves warm, and have plenty to eat’, but does nothing to supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So with faith; if it does not lead to action, it is in itself a lifeless thing.” (James 2:14-17)

“If there is a poor man among you, one of your brothers, in any of the towns of the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand to your poor brother; but you shall freely open your hand to him, and generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks.” (Deut. 15:7)

“Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had arrogance, abundant food, and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy. Thus they were haughty and committed abominations before Me. Therefore I removed them when I saw it.” (Ezek. 16:49)

Either walk the walk, or shut the fuck up.  Next time you start complaining about equal healthcare to all, remember the words you seem to want people to believe you live by.

Important information about myself:

These are not my religious views.  I care more about the words and lives of those around me than those of people long dead and I do not need a god to tell me how to be a good person.  I have no excuses or gods to fear.  I want to be a good person because for fucks sake it just feels good.  But for your Christ’s sake, if you are going to preach then you should at least TRY to follow what you want everyone else to hear.

Also, as far as the war against terrorism, I am entirely patriotic.  I support our troops, I support keeping our country safe against outside enemies.  Absolutely.  I do believe however, if we can spend that much money on killing, we can spend at least a little more money on saving lives, if not for you and me, than for our children and their children.
